Independent measurements consistently rate the Perseus among the highest-spin paddles in the category. CRBN 1X uses raw T700 carbon — also gripping, but smoother. What about the Perseus 16mm?
JOOLA also makes a 16mm version of the Perseus — same surface, same shape, thicker core. This is closer to the CRBN 1X profile (control / forgiveness) but with the spin advantage of the CFS face. Will the spin advantage of the Perseus actually matter for me?
If you're a 3.5+ player who can already generate topspin (i.e., you can intentionally roll the ball), yes — the Perseus will measurably increase your RPM. If you're below 3.5 and still working on basic mechanics, the spin advantage is marginal compared to other improvements you could make.
Does the Perseus's CFS face wear out faster?
